How can I back up a NAS and network drives after v5.9?

The software now runs as a service. As a result, you need to make sure that the service (which can't have permissions applied to it, per se) can access the data. To do this, the files need to be accessible by "everyone."

Alternatively, and most preferably, you can create a user with access to the NAS and have that user run the software. Once the user is created and the permissions are granted, you'll want to install the software under their user and turn off desktop activity/interactivity. This will prevent anyone from being able to log in as that user, but when the software runs, it will allow the user to "authorize" the access to the NAS, giving you the ability to back it up, while running in the background and not interrupting your user's workflow.
